CONSTRUCTION PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE

 

Assignment:

The Project Representative (PR) will serve as the firm's representative on job sites of

Keck & Wood projects primarily in North and Middle Georgia.  The job will generally be

associated with water and wastewater plants and pipeline projects but may also include

roadway, storm drainage, and site work projects.  The PR will work under the direction of

Keck & Wood project managers in project administration duties.  The position will be in

the Public Works / Water Resources Group.

 

Environment:

The PR will work primarily on outside construction sites but will occasionally travel to the

Duluth office for project review and project administration tasks.  Overnight travel is infrequent.

 

Job Category:

The position will be full-time temporary salaried non-exempt with provisions for overtime pay.

The work week is expected to generally be 40 hours Monday-Friday.

 

Duties:

The PR will develop an understanding of the plans and specifications and provide on-site

observation of construction projects.  The PR will not manage any of the construction workers,

direct the activities of the contractor, or be expected to approve or disapprove the work.  The

PR will communicate with his supervisor and the contractor regarding what he observes

regarding work quality and quantity and will assist in evaluating the contractor's pay requests.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Ability ot interpret construction plans for public works projects

Ability to work in an outdoor environment around construction activities

Experience:  4 or more years in similar or related work

Experience with water, wastewater, or natural gas construction desirable

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Professional image

Satisfactory driving record

Satisfactory drug test

Assignment:

The Civil Engineering graduate will work in the Duluth, Georgia office of Keck & Wood,

Inc. The candidate will work with other civil engineers in design activities and project

administration duties. The assignment will be in the PUBLIC WORKS / WATER

RESOURCE design group.

 

Environment:

The candidate will work primarily in the office but will occasionally travel to project sites

for construction review and project administration. Overnight travel is infrequent.

Duties:

Civil engineering design and project administration, working in a team environment

with a Professional Engineer mentor. Design activities will include use of state-of-the

art design software and equipment. Assignment will include both office-based work and

field opportunities to review construction. The area of practice will primarily be

“water resources engineering” including water and wastewater plant design, pipeline

hydraulic analysis and design, natural gas facility design, storm water permitting, site

design, construction project administration and inspection.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

BS Civil Engineering

EIT certification desirable

Experience:  entry level to 4 years

Significant experience with AutoCAD and/or other design software

Good communication and interpersonal skills

The candidate will work primarily in the office but will occasionally travel to project sites

for construction review and project administration. Overnight travel is infrequent.

Duties:

Civil engineering design and project administration, working in a team environment

“transportation engineering” including roadway design, design of pedestrian/bicycle

facilities, construction administration, and occasional involvement with environmental

engineering, storm water analysis, utilities engineering, and land development engineering.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

BS Civil Engineering, EIT certification desirable.

Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.
